How I Work
My approach to therapy is to build meaningful relationships with my clients and to be their advocate. We know that this is the biggest predictor of success in therapy! I use a blend of techniques and tailor my approach to each person because I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all. I use humor, direct communication, and a loving and supportive approach. Talking to me feels like connecting with another human being.
As a white clinician, I am aware of the privilege I hold and how my identity impacts my client(s) in the room. I am committed to providing non-oppressive, anti-racist therapy.
Therapy is a collaborative process and I check in with my clients often to ask for feedback. I am skilled at identifying patterns, translating complex information into simple truths, and getting to the heart of the matter. My role as a therapist is to help my clients illuminate their own strengths and solutions to challenges in their lives.
